When I was in 5th grade, I played in a recreation basketball league. My dad coached my team that year, and we were unstoppable. We had a great point guard, a decent big guy, and I was probably the 3rd best on the team. We were undefeated during the regular season. In the playoffs we lost a heart breaker in the semi-finals by 3 points after some of the worst officiating I had seen in my young career. But we got to play in the consolation game for 3rd place. In that game we absolutely destroyed the other team. Final score was about 90-35 and us 3 best players didn't play the most of the 4th quarter. But winning that hardly felt like it mattered, we still felt cheated.
Tonight I played the turbo fiddy. Got lucky a few times, ended up placing 13th. A decent cash, but the final table has still been eluding me. After what I've been through with tournaments the last week it has left me feeling like I did when I was in 5th grade, winner of a consolation prize... that seemed like nothing.
In actuality it's not nothing, it's actually a nice rebound after a tough run in tournaments over the last week, and the horrendous cash session I had earlier. This is the first cash I've had in a 55$ tournament since I started playing in a few (I think 5 turbo fiddy's, and 2 regulars). The $190 doesn't hurt, as I am still due for a big cash, and will likely make the turbo fiddy a nightly game for me since it wraps up in about 2.5 hours.
That's all for tonight... tomorrow I'll report on how cash games turn out for me.
